Sam entered St. Joseph's Medical Center on November 15th 2008 after experiencing a massive coronary event of unknown causes. After 13 weeks at St. Joe's, in the ICU and in step down, Sam spent 2 weeks at Mt. Sinai's Brain Trauma Injury Rehabilitation Program. It's been a long path, with good days and bad, but overall she's made tremendous progress and has had triumphs....the most recent as we begin this blog: finally regaining some speech in the last week of February! This blog is for those who love Sam and who are interested in her daily progress. Sam had been at Park Terrace for 8-1/2 months. She has recently transitioned to Northeast Center for Special Care in Kingston New York and continues to undergo intensive physical, speech, occupational, and other therapies. Cards and good wishes can be sent to: Northeast Center for Special Care, 300 Grant Avenue, Lake Katrine, New York 12449 Room #NRP2-430.
What a great day! Sam seems to be making progress by leaps and bounds now. Thank you for this wonderful blog!
